Carpets and upholstery
Our carpet and upholstery cleaning operatives are all trained by Prochem and we mainly use their tried-and-tested equipment and materials. We can provide different methods of carpet cleaning for various types of carpets and situations, including:
- Carpet/upholstery shampooing and hot water vacuum extract
- Dry method of cleaning using micro sponges
- Carpet freshening using the ‘bonnet buffing’ method
- Spot cleaning
Upon request we can put together a carpet cleaning maintenance programme, which can include: spot cleaning; monthly/quarterly cleaning of ‘high’ traffic areas, corridors and entrances; an annual clean of all office areas.
Before any work is started, all carpets are tested for shrinkage and colour fastness. If dyes are found to run, work will not be continued.
For domestic locations we will come and give you a quote after your exact requirements have been assessed. The method we recommend will depend on the type and age of your carpet.
No carpet cleaning will give you a ‘new’ carpet or sofa, and if we feel we can’t improve the quality and appearance of your carpet or furniture we will not clean it. We have a good reputation which we want to keep, and the best recommendation for us is word of mouth. We want you to be happy with any work we do so you will want to use us again.
Shampoo method cleaning
Firstly, your carpet will be deep carpet-cleaned with an industrial-type vacuum cleaner. This removes 50% of the accumulated dust particles and dirt, and raises the pile for ease of cleaning. We will then treat any spots and stains with special chemicals, depending on the age and type of mark. A pre-spray is applied over the whole area which loosens any remaining soiled material, …and finally the carpet is machine cleaned using hot water and a neutralizing detergent. The carpet is then left to dry for about two hours.
Dry method cleaning
Spots and stains are first treated then micro sponges are applied and brushed into the carpet. These are left to penetrate and absorb the dirt and dust particles for up to one hour. Finally the whole area is vacuumed with an industrial-type vacuum cleaner, leaving your carpet clean and smelling extra fresh with no drying time.
Upholstery cleaning
The basic method for cleaning upholstery is similar to the carpet cleaning method but using more delicate tools. The furniture needs to be left to dry for about two hours.
